SENIOR PASTOR

Pastor Dave was born in Boston, MA, but pretty much lived his entire life in Southern California. He grew up in the Silverlake area and now resides in San Gabriel with his wife, Grace, and son, Michael. Pastor Dave felt called to the ministry during his senior year of high school and attended his first two years of college at Biola University. He then transferred to CSULB because he didn’t want to be a pastor and played Jonah for nine years. While working as a Passenger Service Supervisor for Continental Airlines at LAX, he finally responded to God’s calling to the ministry and graduated from Talbot Theological Seminary. Pastor Dave has a passion to see people grow in Christ and experience Him in ways they thought were unimaginable. Whether taking big or small steps in their faith journey, it gives him great joy to see the Holy Spirit transform people’s lives to live more like Jesus. In his spare time he likes to go eat with family and friends, fish (both fresh and salt water), watch movies on Amazon, Disney +, and Netflix, build both plastic military ship and aircraft models, and add to his Transformers collection.

DISCIPLESHIP PASTOR

The Lord extended an amazing calling to Annette when Pastor Dave Fukuyama unexpectedly invited her to come develop a church-wide culture and emphasis on Discipleship at Mission Valley. She joined our staff in October 2021. She has served on the pastoral staff at Evergreen Baptist Church and Gardena Valley Baptist Church. A special joy has been for her to teach as an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific Seminary. Annette loves to equip God’s people for service and God’s glory and for the maturity of the church (Ephesians 4:11-16). She desires to see more intergenerational disciple making occur throughout and beyond Mission Valley. Developing disciples who reflect the heart and character of Jesus and who help others to wholeheartedly follow Him is her life passion. Her brother, Glenn, also attends Mission Valley. Annette enjoys Japanese culture and artistry, washi tape crafts, museums, reading, and playing with her pet rabbit, Tanner.

YOUTH PASTOR

Michael was born and raised in the city of San Gabriel, and grew up going to church. He first started attending church at Evergreen LA, and made the switch to Mission Valley when Pastor Dave (his father) became the Senior Pastor. Michael is passionate about the FLOW Youth Ministry because he loves to invest in the students spiritual lives as a leader while also supporting them in the activities they love doing. His goal for FLOW is to teach and educate the students what it means to be a Christ-follower with the hope that they will purse God endlessly. Michael is a Master of Divinity student at Azusa Pacific University (APU). His hobbies are playing basketball, fishing, and going on food adventures!

FAMILY LIFE DIRECTOR

Kiki comes to us with years of ministry experience, serving at multiple churches and parachurch ministries and missions to Kenya and Mexico. Kiki has a passion for people and a heart to serve. She has a desire to see young people develop a lasting, experiential faith and personal relationship with Jesus. She loves being able to serve in ministry and finds true joy being part of the Mission Valley Family. She attended UC San Diego and graduated with a double B.A. in Psychology and Religion. Prior to joining the Mission Valley staff, Kiki worked as a financial administrator at Heavenly Treasures, a non-profit organization equipping and assisting small handicraft businesses in developing countries throughout the world. When she's not at church, Kiki enjoys spending time with her amazing husband, Edel. She loves all things Disney and Dodgers, going to the beach and spending time with friends and family.

WORSHIP COORDINATOR

Nathan grew up in Los Angeles. Throughout his childhood he moved from city to city, but now resides in the city of Alhambra. He started leading worship at the young age of twelve and has not stopped since. From leading in his schools, many different ministries, special events, and other churches he now serves as the Worship Coordinator at Mission Valley. He came to MV through our annual Family Summer Camp way back in 2019. His passion is to truly create a space for the presence of God so that people can encounter Him in worship. Nathan’s vision is to help people understand that worship isn’t just about singing songs on a Sunday morning, but that worship is a lifestyle and is about the heart, and we have the ability to worship God in whatever we do. His hobbies consists of going to the gym, playing video games, and spending time with his, wife, Caitlyn, and their new son, Owen.
