301/Shape Ministry
Contact: Joyce Miyabe
office@missionvalleyfmc.org
The 301/SHAPE Ministry is a support to the Christian Life And Service Seminars (CLASS) which includes the classes on membership (101), maturity (201), ministry (301), and missions (401). The 301 Ministry Team assists members in applying their Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences (SHAPE) to ministries in the church. It is exciting to team up people in the ministries that God has guided them toward as well as work with the Mission Valley ministries to provide God’s workers.

MV Kids Brochure (Click for pdf)-
We believe that each and every child is a gift from God. We strive to make the Children's Ministry fun, creative, and implemented with excellence. The Bible is God's Word and should be taught and applied in a manner that is relevant to the child. We believe that it is important to provide a child-centered environment that is safe and comfortable. Parental partnership is essential to the success of children's ministry. Equipping and empowering the adult and student staff is also necessary to successfully teach children. We strongly believe that an authentic biblical community is to be modeled and emulated by the staff and children of the children’s ministry.
First Touch Ministry
Contact: Grace Inouye
office@missionvalleyfmc.org
The “First Touch” Assimilation Ministry is a developing ministry looking for people with hearts to welcome others into our congregation and see them equipped to live a Godly life. We want to provide a loving and nurturing culture where first time worshippers develop a good impression of Mission Valley and want to return. We hope to meet the needs of people and to help them begin the path of growth in their relationships with Jesus Christ by taking the CLASS 101. We need greeters to warmly welcome people, connection partners in each ministry to connect people to MV and others, informative bulletin boards, directional signs and welcome cart with valuable information on them, a coffee cart (with people to run it) as another means of fellowship in the Courtyard, a packet of information created and gifts for first time attendees. Please contact Grace Inouye if you would like to be involved.
Global Outreach Team

Responding to God’s command for us to “GO” and make disciples to all nations applies to all who love Jesus and want others to know Him. We have a mission field in our own family, community, workplace as well as in foreign countries. We want to mobilize the Mission Valley church body to serve where God has called them, providing opportunities locally and internationally. We want to support those who are ‘called to obedience’ to serve by providing a means (financial support), personal support, (calling the church to come beside individuals), and prayer covering (providing current information) for all we love and support!
Golf Ministry
Contact: Mitz Shiozaki
office@missionvalleyfmc.org
Golf ministry provides a means and opportunity for everyone, young and old, within the church body to build healthier relationships with each other. The Golf Ministry utilizes this common interest sport as an outreach to draw unbelieving friends, relatives, and others closer to Jesus.

Worship service is a celebration of life and our commitment to Jesus. The music ministry strives to invite God’s people into a comfortable atmosphere to help usher them into a fresh, new and intimate meeting with God each week.
Prayer Ministry

Vision/mission statement: To be known as a body of believers who intercede on behalf of those in need and seek God’s direction and guidance and presence in all things.
Our activities include an after service prayer time-available to any one who wishes prayer (located in the Prayer Chapel in the back of the chapel) and an after-service meeting for various needs and church wide requests.
This year we plan on spreading the prayer focus to the small groups, and investigating creative methods of prayer. In the future we hope to possibly introduce more bold prayer with respect to the prophetic, and the raising up of more people with the gifting and heart to spend time in “traveling and soaking” in prayer the people in need.
Second Wind

(Committee: Chiyeko Kaida, Lily Miyata, Evelyn Okamura and Lois Toyama)
We are, as a church group of seniors, members of the Council of Senior Adult Ministries (COSAM). Our vision is to draw people from our church, family and friends to our various activities and meetings. We endeavor to have a once-a-month meeting, trip, or attend a program which would be of interest to seniors. We used to have extended trips, three or more days to various points of interest, but so far we haven't done so this year because of illnesses. Speakers selected tell of their special expertise in health, long-term care, Medicare/Medicaid, and other topics of interest.
Small Groups
Contact: Mitz Shiozaki
office@missionvalleyfmc.org
We, as Americans, spend billions of dollars each year to become physically fit. What are we doing to develop our spiritual muscles? Did you say you go to church on Sundays? Can you become physically fit by watching others exercise? If the answer to the last question is no, here is an opportunity to develop your spiritual muscles through small group participation at Mission Valley. In small groups, you will have an opportunity to do the following: LOVE one another, PRAY for one another, ENCOURAGE one another, GREET one another, SERVE one another, ACCEPT one another, HONOR one another, BEAR one another's burdens, and much more. We have many small groups throughout the San Gabriel Valley meeting weekly.
